General Coupon Lingo:
$/$ | Save $ off your purchase of $. For example, $5/$30 would be read as “$5 off your $30 purchase.” |
$/# | Save $ off your purchase of # items. For example, $5/4 would be read as “$5 off your purchase of 4 items.” |
B1G1 | Buy one, get one. |
Blinkie | A coupon that is dispensed by a machine mounted near the relevant product inside many grocery and drug stores. |
BOGO | Buy one, get one. |
CAT | Also know as a Catalina Coupon. |
ETS | Excluding trial size. |
EXP | Expiration date. |
GM | General Mills coupon insert. |
Insert | Also known as a Coupon Insert. These are the booklets of coupons that are found in the Sunday Newspaper; may also be delivered found in shared mail deliveries. |
IP | Internet printable – coupon that can be printed from a variety of sources on the internet. |
MAN | Manufacturer. |
MFR | Manufacturer. |
MIR | Mail in rebate. |
OOP | Out of pocket. This is the amount of money that you will pay after coupons and any rewards that you’ve got to spend, but before you are issued any rewards that have been earned by the current transaction. |
OYNO | On Your Next Order. Often mentioned in reference to CAT coupons. |
OYNP | On Your Next Purchase. Often mentioned in reference to CAT coupons. |
P&G | Proctor & Gamble coupon insert. |
Peelie | Coupons found stuck to the product. |
PSA | Prices start at. |
Q | Abbreviation for coupon. |
RP | Red Plum coupon insert. |
SS | Smart Source coupon insert. |
Stack | Refers to the act of using one manufacturer coupon and one store coupon on the same item. |
WYB | When you buy. |
YMMV | Your mileage may vary. Refers to the fact that not all transactions may go according to what is being put forth due to a variety of factors (regional deals, store policies, stock availability, etc.) |
CVS Coupon Lingo:
ECB | Extra Care Bucks. These are CVS store rewards which can be redeemed like cash on items sold at CVS stores (some exclusions do apply). |
CRT | CVS coupons that print out at the end of your receipt, or from the |
CVS Coupon Center | Machine inside CVS stores where you can check prices or scan your Extra Care card to receive select CVS coupons. |
Kmart Coupon Lingo:
SYWR | Shop Your Way Rewards. These are Kmart points which can be earned for purchasing participating products; they can then be redeemed for $ off your transaction. |
Rite Aid Coupon Lingo:
RA | Abbreviation for Rite Aid. |
VV | Video Values. These are Rite Aid store coupons that can be earned by watching videos via the AdPerk website. |
