I think we can all agree, there’s just nothing like Mom’s home cookin’. It just tastes better, doesn’t it? For that reason I’ve asked my Mom to submit some of her favorite recipes for me to share with y’all each Monday. Let’s get cooking in the kitchen with Mom!
As you guys may know, I am a self-confessed smores lover. They’re the perfect summertime treat, but I hate trying to assemble them everytime we want some. So why not make them into a bar? These are a perfect solution to my dilemma, and they’re SUPER easy to make. These would make an awesome bake sale item as they are inexpensive and easy to assemble.
Ingredients:
- (1) 1lb 1.5oz. bag of Sugar Cookie Mix
- 1 cup crushed graham crackers
- 1 cup butter (melted)
- 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 4.5 cups miniature marshmallows
Begin by pre-heating your oven to 350 degrees. In a bowl combine the sugar cookie mix and the graham crackers. Add the melted butter and and stir until a soft dough forms. Press mixture into an ungreased 9″ x 13″ pan. Bake for 18 – 20 minutes, or until dough is set. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the crust. Let chocolate melt and spread evenly over the crust. Meanwhile, bump up your oven to broil. Top the chocolate with the marshmallows and put your bars back in the oven. Brown the marshmallows for 20 to 30 seconds under the broiler (watch them closely, they go quickly!). Remove from oven and cool for 10 minutes. Cut, serve and ENJOY!
