CeraVe Moisturizing Cream
I am a recovering skincare brand snob. This sequence of events turned my elitism around: An abrupt financial reality check after looking at my bank account, the recommendation of a drug store product from a friend with discriminating taste in skincare, and the subsequent purchase of said product with excellent results. The culprit? CeraVe (Sara-Vay) Moisturizing Cream.
My friend told me that she had problems with excessively dry skin, and that her dermatologist urged her to try it. “I traded LaMer for it” she told me. Crème de La Mer—a moisturizer that runs $135 for 1 ounce—is simply not an option for those of us who don’t rely on stock dividends for income. The reason I asked my friend for advice is that I was having problems with simultaneously oily and dry, peeling skin. CeraVe’s patented technology enables gradual release of ceramides, which supports a strengthened moisture barrier throughout the day. Hyaluronic acid, which is naturally-occurring in our bodies, is the link between collagen and elastin. When applied to the skin, it plumps fine lines and wrinkles, making for a smooth look. It’s also a hydrating powerhouse, with its molecules containing high amounts of water. As someone with oily skin, it’s important that a moisturizer absorb quickly and completely, leaving little to no greasy residue. CeraVe Cream achieves this, leaving an instant matte effect.
After using it for a few days, I noticed that the peeling ceased, my skin felt smoother and more supple, and that I only needed a small amount of product to accomplish those results. CVS sells CeraVe Moisturizing Cream for $16.69 for 16 ounces, making the price $1.04 per ounce. This product is ideal for use on the body as well as the face.
Looks like you just found your new winter moisturizer, and you can still afford to buy holiday presents instead of writing poems for everyone.
