I think we can all agree, there’s just nothing like Mom’s home cookin’. It just tastes better, doesn’t it? For that reason I’ve asked my Mom to submit some of her favorite recipes for me to share with y’all each Monday. Let’s get cooking in the kitchen with Mom!
This week’s recipe is a summertime staple – as soon as berry season hits, we make this dish constantly! In fact, I think I’ve made it every night for the past week. It’s super simple, very tasty and you won’t be able to put it down. It’s amazing by itself and even yummier on some fresh vanilla ice cream or on a shortcake.
Ingredients:
- 1 pint strawberries
- 1 pint blueberries
- 1 pint raspberries
- 1 pint blackberries
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
After washing your berries, hull and half the strawberries. Throw all of your berries in a large bowl Add in your balsamic vinegar and sugar. Toss to coat, stirring gently taking care not to break the raspberries.
Chill in the refrigerator for an hour before serving. When your ready to eat, remove your berries from the refrigerator and give the dish a stir to redistribute the juices.
Serve and enjoy!
