Early in December I posed a great deal from Plum District for a $25 gift card and $50 Restaurant.com gift certificate for $20. Unfortunately for those of us that purchased this deal, it appears that Digital Doorstep (the company responsible for sending out the physical gift cards) has not been able to keep up their end of the bargain. As a result, Plum District sent this message via e-mail late yesterday:
Dear Customer,
Due to unexpected, and possibly permanent, delays in the shipment and delivery schedule of your gift cards, we have decided to refund your purchase in the full amount. If you used Plum Dollars to purchase this deal, those will be credited back to your account as well. This will be reflected in your account within the next 7 business days. We sincerely apologize for the frustration this may cause. If you have any further issues or concerns, please email help@plumdistrict.com.
Our goal as a company is to always “make Mom’s day,” and we know this deal fell short of that goal. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We are committed to delighting our customers to Make Moms Day – every day.
Sincerely,
Megan Gardner
CEO
It appears that if you have not received your gift cards from this deal yet, chances are you wont, so please check your emails and your Plum District account for details on your refund.
I’m definitely disappointed in Plum District for not communicating more effectively on the status of this promo. Ultimately it is not their fault, but it is always disappointing when deals such as this fall through.
I try my very darndest to bring you guys the best deals I can find from trustworthy, reliable companies and still believe Plum District to be in this category. However, I will warn you against deals involving Digital Doorstep. This story is becoming all too familiar with deals involving them as I hate to waste your time and/or endanger your hard earned money.
