I think we can all agree, there’s just nothing like Mom’s home cookin’. It just tastes better, doesn’t it? For that reason I’ve asked my Mom to submit some of her favorite recipes for me to share with y’all each Monday. Let’s get cooking in the kitchen with Mom!
So last week we talked about one of my favorite winter time beverages – homemade hot chocolate! So yummy! And one of the most important ingredients is chocolate sauce. I’m not a fan of store bought chocolate sauce – it tastes funky to me, especially when you compare it to the deliciousness that is this homemade chocolate sauce. This chocolate sauce is perfect for all kinds of things – sweetening your morning coffee, adding to hot chocolate, topping ice cream or even for dipping fruit! It’s so good we often tie it up with a bow and give it as gifts this time of year 🙂
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of organic cocoa
- 1 cup of organic honey
- 1 cup of water
- 3 tbsp organic butter
- 3 tbps of organic chocolate chips
- 1 tbsp of vanilla
In a medium pot add water and turn heat to medium. Add cocoa, honey, vanilla, chocolate chips and butter whisk together until nice and smooth and mixture is nice and warm. Let cool and store in air tight container (mason jars work perfectly!).
Enjoy!
